Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice and guidance

11 November, 2020

Coronavirus update

Updated 13th January 2021

Following the most recent guidance issued to Higher Education institutions, ICTheatre colleges will be closed and all teaching and assessments will be on-line until at least mid-February.

The advice we continue to give to students is they should not travel under any circumstances and must not return to their term-time accommodation. We will do everything we can to assist them in continuing their studies on-line and will provide support in terms of learning resources required. Students should also not travel back and forth between their permanent home and term-time address.

We are awaiting more detailed guidance about how this will impact the planned testing for returning students and as soon as it becomes available, we will inform our students of how this will apply to them.

How we’re keeping our students and staff safe.

In preparation for welcoming our students, lecturers and staff back into our colleges we have put in place strict measures and guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone.

Over the Summer months, we have developed detailed plans for each college and building, to ensure the appropriate measures are put in place to be able to safely welcome everyone back into the buildings. Each building we use has undergone a detailed risk assessment and building schematics are in place with designated one-way systems, protective screens, PPE stock and reporting procedures.

It is also important that our students understand their individual responsibility for keeping themselves and their peers safe. In order to make this as clear and simple as possible, we have developed and issued a Student Charter which outlines the responsibilities of our students when they are on campus and these have been shared with students prior to their return, as well as being displayed around the buildings alongside our own commitment to their wellbeing.

Our approach to learning and teaching will continue to be informed by the latest government guidance as we move through the coming months, and we are well prepared to move our teaching fully online in the event of a national or localised lockdown situation. Our fully online teaching model is also available to students who may be self-isolating or unable to attend offline classes in Semester 1.

Auditions and Open Days

To keep in line with our new safety regulations and limit the spread of COVID-19 – Auditions for 2021/22 will be taking place remotely via video auditions and virtual open days.

We have put together a comprehensive guide to submitting your video audition which we hope will reassure you that the audition process continues to be thorough and rigorous.

We understand that auditions are also a valuable opportunity for you to ask questions, look at facilities and get a “feel for the place”, so with that in mind we will be running FaceTime or Skype interviews and live open days with key members of the ICTheatre faculty.

For more information on submitting a video audition for our Extended Diploma court please e-mail admissions@ictheatre.ac.uk.
