Your professional headshot is a crucial calling card. Advice and guidance will be given so that your selections are representative of you and your casting potential. We also have contacts with excellent photographers who offer discounts to our students.

Spotlight is a hugely important platform for graduates. There is a £60 fee for joining and we offer support to ensure you are getting the best from your investment.

Following on from acting for camera classes and direction of material, we facilitate a high-quality 2-minute showreel, making the most of our connection with our sister college Screen Film School with their professional standard equipment and facilities. Showreels are sent to targeted agents and casting directors as well as appearing on Spotlight.

There are two full scale shows in the third year, the nature of which is dependent on the pathway you are on. Industry professionals, casting directors and agents are invited to these and they are also a pivotal part of your third-year training where you are given the chance to work with external directors and creatives.

Professional development does not simply focus on practical skills. Mental resilience is a key player in your ability to make the most of opportunities and to sustain a career. You will work on strategies for coping with the nerves and anxiety you may experience auditioning and performing. You also need to have the confidence to deal with elements of a career that are challenging such as rejection and to be able to be positive and productive when things don’t go your way.

Most auditions now involve self-taping. You will be taught the skills needed to produce high quality and effective tapes. You will also be given guidance on live audition techniques through a series of mock auditions with practising industry professionals.

We are linked to BIMM Connect, an online platform giving you access to career opportunities and events, as well as a means of networking with students from the film and music colleges. The students of today are the creatives of tomorrow, and someone you connect with through this platform could be working with you in the future.

Social Media is a highly effective tool and can be used in many ways. You will be given guidance on how to manage it and how to use it to your advantage in promoting yourself and your work.

Artist and Brand Development: In 2021, Performers are their own Artist. You will need to focus on what your Brand is, what your identity is. You are your own business so at ICTheatre we guide you on how you shape and refine your own brand and give you the tools to understand how to promote and style yourself through Masterclasses and seminars.

Agent panel sessions, management seminars, masterclasses with visiting professionals will all take place throughout your third year giving you the opportunity to expand both your knowledge base and to experience contemporary practice and advice from people working right now in the industry.
