Personal Development
An environment for you to thrive
Your wellbeing is the foundation of our ethos. From our expertly-crafted higher education and degree programmes to our mindfulness and resilience workshops, we provide a holistic approach to performing arts training. That’s what makes the ICTheatre experience unique, and why our graduates are able to create thriving careers of their own design.
During your time here, you’ll develop a toolkit of strategies that will support you to dig deep, choose resilience in the face of challenge, and bring compassion to yourselves and others – all while exploring your unique self expression through performing arts.
Our talented faculty deliver the best performing arts training available. They’ll focus on making your learning exciting, relevant and aligned with your aspirations as you step into the professional arena.
We’ll provide you with everything you need to thrive in this challenging industry and encourage you to keep pushing the boundaries of what you believe to be possible. Mindset is everything – it will be the making of your success. Our trainers and support services team will help you uncover limiting beliefs that might otherwise hold you back from reaching your full potential, and teach you mindfulness techniques to blast through blockages now and long into your future.
Mental and physical wellbeing
To succeed in the creative industries, you need talent, discipline and hard work. But theatre schools often overlook the importance of mental and physical wellbeing.
Strength and resilience, both mental and physical, is key to your success. That’s why all our programmes include physical training and personal development, with focused meditation and mindfulness practice embedded into the training. We also have a consultant nutritionist and physiotherapist who will offer support when required.
The training, and indeed the world of creative arts, is challenging as well as hugely rewarding, you need to be robust; equipped with strategies so that you can persevere and thrive even when things are tough. These are life skills that will extend far beyond your career.
We’re on a mission to create a more diverse, healthy, and happy entertainment industry – and as an ICTheatre student, you’re leading the charge.
Living our principles
The core principles which all our faculty and students live by are:
- Everything Is Possible: Dream big, embrace creativity, act, and adjust.
- Passion First: Explore unknown possibilities, be authentic
- We Are Connected: Everyone is connected, embrace everyone, lead with value
- 100% Accountable: Own your own life, take responsibility, overcome limiting beliefs, focus your energy, continue to grow
- Attitude of Gratitude: Treasure yourself and others, pay it forward, elevate your perspective
- Live to Give: Stretch yourself, make a difference, receive gracefully, create a legacy
- Embrace Every Moment: get in the zone, be vulnerable, act with purpose
