Julie-Alanah Brighten

Head of Vocals & Vocals Principal Lecturer

Julie-Alanah’s career has spanned myriad aspects of the entertainment industry.

As an actress she has starred in many West End productions and is best known for originating the role of Belle in the UK premiere of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Andrew Lloyd Webber's one-woman show Tell Me On A Sunday.

Work on National tours includes Lili Vannessi/Kate in Michael Blakemore’s Kiss Me Kate and Lady Jacqueline in Mike Ockrent’s Me and My Girl.

TV and film work include Happiness with Paul Whitehouse and A Christmas Carol with Kelsey Grammar.

As a professional singer she has been gigging since she was thirteen and was a guest vocalist for many years with the Kitsch Lounge Riot at the Café de Paris in Piccadilly, singing alongside Jamie Cullum, Sam Brown, Clare Teal, and The Foundations.

As an educator Julie-Alanah has seen many successful graduates at our sister college BIMM as Principal Lecturer in Vocals and Live Performance so we are incredibly pleased to welcome Jules to the ICTheatre family as Head of Vocals.
