What is Clearing?

Clearing is how universities and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses.

From Tuesday 5 July, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places.

You can use Clearing if:

  • You’re applying after 30th June
  • You didn’t receive any offers
  • You didn’t meet the conditions of your offer
  • You’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in Track

How Clearing works

If you already have your exam results, and you did not submit a UCAS application in the main scheme, you can use Clearing now.

If you have had conditional offers, but maybe didn’t achieve the grades you needed for your initial UCAS choices, you can use Clearing from 8:30am on results day (Thursday 18th August) when universities and colleges place a list of their vacancies on the UCAS website. You will be able to add a choice from 3pm on this day.

There are no offers through Clearing, just unconditional acceptances. For ICTheatre, this means we have to confirm that you’ve met any necessary academic requirements and have been successful in an audition/interview before we can accept you on a course.

ICTheatre courses available through Clearing

We’ve published a full list of ICTheatre courses which still have vacancies, which you can browse via the UCAS search tool.

4. We will advise if you can put the college down as a choice on UCAS Track and if so, will book you an audition

5. Submit UCAS application, adding a course choice for ICTheatre. We will then check your academic qualifications

6. Pass an audition via Zoom

7. ICTheatre unconditional place offered

8. Your place is instantly confirmed (CLA)

If you have had conditional offers, but your exam results have not been quite what you were expecting, you can use Clearing from around 8 am on results day (Tuesday 10th August). Keep an eye on your UCAS Track and if you become eligible to use Clearing, an ‘Add a Clearing choice’ button will become available in the ‘Your Choices’ section. Here is what you will need to do:

1.  Obtain Clearing Number

2. Single choice applicants must top-up their fee to UCAS to £26 (an additional £6)

5. Submit UCAS application. We will then check your academic qualifications

6. Pass an audition via Zoom

7. ICTheatre unconditional place offered

8. Your place is instantly confirmed (CLA)

There are no offers through clearing, just unconditional acceptances. For ICTheatre, this means we have to confirm that you’ve met any necessary academic requirements and have been successful in an audition before we can accept you on a course.

If you’ve had conditional offers, but your exam results didn’t quite go according to plan, you can use Clearing from around 8 am on A-Level results day when universities and colleges place a list of their vacancies on the UCAS website.
