Andrew Margerison

Principal Lecturer - Contemporary Jazz

Andrew is a principal lecturer in Jazz Technique, Musical Theatre, Audition Technique and Professional Practice, for the Jazz Focus programme at the Northern Ballet School, as well as contributing creatively to a variety of in-house productions as director and choreographer.

Andrew trained at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre and has worked extensively in musical theatre as both a performer and a creative. His credits include, as Director, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty (Floral Pavilion New Brighton). As Choreographer, Sleeping Beauty (Pavilion Theatre Bournemouth), Cinderella, Aladdin, Peter Pan and Jack and the Beanstalk (Floral Pavilion New Brighton), Aladdin (Palace Theatre Mansfield), Snow White (Central Theatre Chatham), Jack and the Beanstalk (Beck Theatre Hayes), The Sound of Music (Aberystwyth Arts Centre) and The Good Old Days (Leeds City Varieties). As Resident Director, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (UK and International Tour) and The Rocky Horror Big 30 Show (UK Tour and Queens Theatre London). Andrew’s performing credits include, Grease, The Rocky Horror Show, and Starlight Express.

Most recently Andrew was Assistant Director/Choreographer on Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol (Southbank Centre, London). Andrew is passionate about vocational training for professional dance and musical theatre.
