Phil Edgerley

Head of Acting / Acting Principal Lecturer

Phil is a professional actor who’s career has covered working in all areas of the industry both nationally and internationally. He has acted in 9 productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) being invited to become part of Sir Michael Boyd’s Long Ensemble company in 2011.

He has also appeared in productions for amongst others; National Theatre, Royal Court Theatre, Soho Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, Dreamthinkspeak, Bath Theatre Royal and Hammer House Of Horrors (Immersive). Internally he has worked at The Lincoln Arts Centre NYC/The Armoury, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Schouwberg Theatre Rotterdam and the prestigious world renowned theatre arts festival The Festival  d’Avignon. His experience covers a wide breadth of genres and styles including Immersive Theatre, Classical, Contemporary, Rep and Performance Art. He has also appeared in numerous TV film and audio productions the most recent being Endeavour - Series 4 (ITV)and Eastenders (BBC1). Phil is also an Associate Artist of the Oxford Shakespeare Company.

Alongside his acting career Phil has for the past 8 years taught and directed at many of the top actor training institutions including being on the faculty at LAMDA and as guest director and teacher at Arts Ed, Shakespeare’s Globe (education), and the RSC (education) amongst others. He is passionate about empowering the next generation of performers to ensure that their voice and heart at is centre of any performance based creative process.
