1. Industry contacts
We have a broad selection of professional industry contacts as our own in-house agency, giving students a first-hand insight into working in the industry!
These include everyone from West End performers, dancers and singers, to top casting agents and management. There will be regular Masterclasses and advice clinics throughout the year to guide our students towards carving their own path within the professional Performing Arts industry.
2. Living and studying in the Performing Arts hub of Brighton
Renowned for its unique city lifestyle, Brighton is the perfect student home. Day and night, rain or shine, there’s always something going on!
The city is host to many theatres – both big and small, including The Old Market, Theatre Royal, Brighton Open Air Theatre and The Marlborough, to name a few. There’s always something to see and do, whether it’s a street performance at the Fringe Festival or a show at the Theatre Royal.
3. Teaching and Masterclasses with a faculty of top professional tutors
ICTheatre students will be taught by professional tutors, ranging from backgrounds in top West End productions to blockbuster movies and TV shows.
Before joining ICTheatre, all our tutors had busy careers many could only dream of. But it certainly doesn’t stop there. Each one of them is still active and working in the field of Performing Arts, meaning they bring with them current industry experience and knowledge which they’re more than happy to pass directly onto you.
4. Holistic life coaching and mindfulness
Our main ethos at ICTheatre is to create an environment that’s both nurturing and inspirational.
We want our students to be self motivated in all areas, whether that’s with nutrition, fitness or mental health. In the performance industry, it’s so important to keep on top of your health and find ways to stay positive during stressful times. Our team will always be there to help you grow into the best possible version of yourself.
5. Technical training in professional theatre practice, dance and singing techniques
With groundbreaking facilities and professionally trained tutors, ICTheatre students will receive the highest quality training spread across the ‘ICTheatre Trio’: dancing, acting, singing.
Whether it’s training in a studio, performing on stage with your peers, collaborating on a performance art project or creating your own piece of work, experiencing life at ICTheatre will be the inspirational launch-pad you need for success.
6. Top of the range facilities
ICTheatre is purpose-built to supply the best possible learning to students, and the facilities in which training takes place are no different.
Purpose built for the highest standard of performing arts training, Bird Studios contains six large studios with sprung dance floors, full length mirrors and sound systems. The idea is to create a professional environment where the students can craft their art to the best of their ability. Sub-par facilities are a non-existent entity; at ICTheatre we train as we mean to perform.
7. Connection to the Theatre Royal Brighton
As one of 46 Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) venues, the Theatre Royal Brighton showcases the best West End touring productions from the UK every year.
ATG is one of the most prolific theatre producers in the world, with co-productions across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. At ICTheatre, we’ll have access to the Theatre Royal’s 952-capacity theatre to showcase our talent throughout the academic year, and a direct line to other venues within the group.
8. Professional development/career advice
Throughout your studies, our aim will be to get you industry-ready through professional training, while also encouraging you to develop your own work and individual style.
We have our own in-house agency to help manifest professional work for you between studies. Invited top industry agents and choreography style masters will be in touch with ICTheatre students on a regular basis, providing Masterclasses and rogue auditions to help get you industry-ready.
9. Live performance and professional opportunities
During the three years of training at ICTheatre, performance will take centre stage – with regular opportunities to perform.
You’ll get the chance to expand your performance skills across many different platforms. Students will work with current and progressive industry professionals, such as directors, choreographers, musical directors, designers and technicians.
