Jo Cork

Screen Dance Lecturer

Jo Cork is an independent dance and film artist, drawing on exploration of the human condition and experience to create her work. She completed professional dance training at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in 2009, and has been working with film since around 2014.

In 2020, she was part of the very first cohort to graduate from the worlds only MA course in Screendance, at London Contemporary Dance School. She has enjoyed working as a performer (with choreographers including Elizabeth Streb, Gary Clarke, Wayne Sables, Tempered Body Dance Theatre, Fleur Darkin and Lea Anderson), as a choreographer, screendance practitioner and filmmaker, and in dance education and community settings.

Jo has collaborated and partnered with numerous artists and companies to create new dance film work, and also to generate and deliver screendance mentoring programmes, educational resources, and promotional material. Collaborators include Divya Kasturi Company, Sheetal Maru, Kate Jackson Projects, U.Dance, Shift Dance Company, Zoonation, H2Dance Company, One Dance UK, Milap, EDGE Dance Company, The Korean Culture Centre UK, Candoco, The Place, Birmingham DanceXchange, Birmingham International Dance Festival, LJ Projects - Australia.
